You might remember from last week’s video that it’s Nail a New Skill February. If you’re still looking for which skill you should focus on this month, I’ve got an idea for you!Whether you’re a student, parent, educator, or academic business builder, there’s a good chance you have to take notes in your life. And, there’s a good chance there’s a tiny piece of your note taking you could do better.
This piece can reduce test-taking anxiety by helping you feel more confident and competent, improve your grades, and help you understand the information you’re learning on a deeper level. And if you’re not being tested on the things you’re taking notes on, it can still help you put your notes into a form where the information is more easily useable and remembered.
Wanna’ know more? Watch today’s video–it’s only 4 minutes and 35 seconds–and I’ll show you actual examples of what I’m talking about.
Watch it here:
Pretty cool, right? And there are so many ways to hone your notes! It’s a great way to bring your creativity (and maybe even some fun!) to your learning, and it will pay off in a big way.
I’d love to see your Hone It Notes! Feel free to send them to me or send me any questions you have about how to create them.
Remember, today is my monthly, free office hours! You can bring your question there and have me answer it in person! Sign up here to get the Zoom link to join me at 4:30 p.m. PST / 7:30 EST. In the first 30 minutes, I’ll be answering questions about studying; in the second 30 minutes, I’ll be asking questions about building an academic coaching business. If you can’t make it live, no worries! Send me your question and I’ll send you a replay with my answer.
And, if you’re ready to take your note-taking and all of your study skills to the next level, check out my Anti-Boring Approach to Powerful Studying course. It just might change your life!
