The school year is upon us! How ya holding up’? I’ve had a rough go of it this summer, including a trip to the emergency room (don’t worry! I’m ok!! but it did throw me off my game; more about that below).
As a result, I haven’t had the time to put together my usual “Rock the School Year” anti-boring free webinar. However, fear not!
I’m thrilled to invite you to a different FREE virtual event in which I’m participating —
The Teen Leadership Summit–Practical Strategies to Empower Your Children so They Can Make Healthy Choices, Become Confident Leaders and Succeed in School and in Life.
Andrea Zacharias has invited me (and more than 15 other industry leaders!) to share our very best trainings and insights so that you can make sure that your child has an awesome foundation to rock the school year — and the rest of their lives.
<<Click here for free access to the Leadership Summit, which starts soon>>
The experts on this panel are going to be covering the following (see if you can guess which of these topics is mine):
- Proactive parenting that keeps you connected to your child
- How to handle the tough conversations around dating and sex (without scaring your child away or causing a total shut-down!)
- How to help your son or daughter foster a strong sense of self and a healthy identity (This is HUGELY important when it comes to combatting peer pressure!)
- How to teach your children to be kind, present and driven even while competing with the lure of technology and social media.
- The secret to getting your kids to actually ENJOY studying! (Can you imagine?!)
And so much more.
Your child needs you to know these things.
Let’s be real for a minute. Most kids are NOT going to take the initiative to learn these things themselves. It’s up to us, as parents, to gather this information and to present it in a way that feels good, strengthens the bond and opens up communication. You need to parent your child.
But you need to NOT be boring or accusatory. You need to teach without being a dictator. Discipline without feeling like the bad cop. Nurture without being a nag.
And that’s what this event is about. Giving you the tools you need to help THEM create the life of their dreams.
Every one of us on the panel is bringing our best to you so while I know that life is busy, I hope you’ll pencil this in.

The teen years have always gotten a bad rap! It doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, those years can build a closeness between you and your kid that lasts a lifetime.
Hope to see you there!
P.S. Don’t worry if you’ve got a packed calendar. Register anyway. It’s ALL being recorded so you can listen at your convenience!
P.P.S. So, about that emergency room visit. Here’s the backstory; thanks in advance for sticking with the long post:
It happened on day one of my 3-week vacation this summer. I thought I was having a heart attack.
The good news is that I wasn’t! The bad news, besides the $4K I had to pay to Sutter Health thanks to a high deductible, is that I spent my entire vacation trying to figure out what was going on. Several chest pains, vertigo bouts, and panic attacks later, I landed on the simple answer — STRESS! I love my work so much, and am so honored to have become a leader in this field of academic life coaching, that it never occurred to me that I’d been stressing myself out.
It’s one reason I’m so passionate this year about supporting students and families with strategies that help minimize the impact that stress has on our bodies, minds and hearts. You’ll probably hear more from me on this as the year progresses.
And in the meantime — participating in this Teen Leadership Summit is a great first step. I’m so grateful Andrea is doing the work of bringing us all together to start discussing how we can encourage our students to step into their leadership potential with minimum stress and maximum joy. I hope you’ll sign up.
