Today I want to talk about whether your notes should be handwritten, or if you can type them up. On the one hand, this is a straightforward answer (handwriting is almost always better!); on the other hand, it’s complex (some students have learning differences that makes handwriting hard).

In case you don’t have any disabilities that make writing difficult, I would say that handwriting notes are essential. Handwriting has a positive effect on the brain’s cognitive abilities, creative thinking, memorization: https://infographicjournal.com/20-benefits-of-handwriting-for-your-learning-process/ I memorize new information better if I write it down (or rather I memorize only if I write it down). I see many students who do not carry any notebooks with them, but only a tablet or laptop. I sincerely do not understand how it works enough for them.
