Dear Fellow Wreckers,
I think I’m done wrecking.
My journal has been sitting on top of my bedside table, and I haven’t cracked it open once this week.
So — am I being lazy and blocked? Or intuitive and complete? Or just resting?
Time will tell. In the meantime, here are some News Flashes about my life:
- I got health insurance, finally!
- My new iPhone is rocking my world.
- Every night I’m Praying in Color by making an “art card” and hanging it on the mobile over my bed. I love what I’m creating…and I love reflecting on the people and values that are most important to me.
- The new MuseCubes design is back from the printers, and I’m mod podging like crazy!! The new design is soooo much easier to manufacture!!
- Really enjoying all the art submissions for MuseCubes that are rolling in: textiles, abstract art, kids art, photographs! I’m also looking for quilting pics, too. Anybody got quilts?
- In ten minutes I’m off to pick my folks up at the airport. Looking forward to tours of their old haunts (dad was a student at Berkeley in ’69) and stories galore.
- I came up with a compelling one-liner about my academic coaching. : “I help teenagers organize their backpacks and their thinking, so that they can make peace with themselves, their teachers, and their parents.” Looking forward to blogging about this more soon…
We’ll see if I wreck anything next week. For the time being, I’m loving having a community of Radical Wreckers in my orbit.
Squeezes to one and all!
Gosh here I was feeling a little lonely in the didn’t manage much this week section of the #WTJ peanut gallery. Oh well. 🙂
Congrats on yr health insurance, that is a relief to have it.
What a wonderful, clear and encouraging description of what you do for kids (and their parents) — Soothing and upbeat at the same time.
Mmm, feels like there’s lots of creative juiciness going on. Maybe WTJ has done its job 🙂
Letting go is part of the process! 😉
Take you time and work to your own pace. I’m a big believer in intuition and if yours are telling you that it’s time to wrap it up. That’s fine!
Too busy doing creating to be wrecking now? That is wonderful news. The cycle continues 😉
Please post pics of these art cards and the ensuing, growing mobile. I find that wonderful and fascinating.
Just taught Praying In Color to my congregation last Sunday in place of the sermon/message. As we drew togehter the place became filled with the spirit of prayer – it was palpable!
At the end of our prayer time Alina Rossano (InterPlayer and Dancer) danced on behalf of our prayers . . . holy, holy, holy . . .
Meanwhile I’ve adopted Praying In Color as my morning practice.
blessings on all your work and play, Laurie
You have obviously gotten what you need from this journey so far! Look at all the creativity in your life! Enjoy it 🙂
Yay! I’m so glad the mobile is still providing inspiration! And like Jamie talked about in last week’s video, all projects have their ebb and flow, so you may still have more wrecking to do after a break!
Wow – I’m in a very similar place. Love all the creative stuff that’s filling your life now (although I am a little jealous about the iphone part). I’m intrigued by Praying in Color and am off to read more!!
I didn’t do much of wrecking during the week but on weekend it opened up for me. 🙂 You’ll have to wait and see.
Some of these weeks have been harder than others for wrecking. Who knows? The break might bring on a bout of inspiration.
